\"\"I finished the scarf with the multi-colored pink \u201ctrial\u201d yarn<\/a> that made me realize that I did not want to use it for a gift. The scarf turned out well and since I had completed more than half of it, I persevered. Then, right after I cut the yarn before weaving in the end, I put the remainder of the skein into my donation bag. [It is joined by some ruffle scarf yarn that was lovely to look at and made really cute scarves for gifts, it was unbearable to work with.]<\/p>\n

There should be joy in a project. Even if it is a difficult or new pattern, there should be some pleasure in the process. If there is no joy or pleasure in a project then I am resentful of it and that negates the purpose of being happy about making something for someone. Though I will likely never meet the recipient, I want it to be nice and well made. So, this scarf, that turned out well was a trial and the remainder of the scarf (from the second skein) went by faster, especially when I knew that I wasn\u2019t going to use this yarn again.<\/p>\n

I have found the yarn that I want to use for the gift. That trial yarn is wonderful. I am going to work on that test scarf a little longer to see how my gauge is before ordering the yarn. I would rather buy it all at one time, even thought it isn\u2019t dyelotted, this way I will have all I need.<\/p>\n
