The past few days I have been working on completing a shower gift (pictures after the shower) so I haven\u2019t been completing as many things as I would have liked but I have been making progress on my mystery balls<\/a>, two color scarf<\/a> and I found the scarf that I dyed with Kool-Aid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"\u00a0Here are the mystery balls.<\/a>\u00a0There are two which is a good start for an afghan, used two stranded with a neutral yarn. Instead of trying t<\/span>o do all of the joining and winding at one tim<\/span>e, I take a few mini balls and join them so over the course of a week or so. That way the mystery ball grows and it\u2019s not such a\u00a0 daunting task.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The <\/span>two skein, two color scarf<\/a> is taking shape and looking pretty good. The reason I hadn\u2019t worked on it much was the shower gift was taking up a bit of time but I will definitely use this technique again. Progress has been made and after the first few rows and changes, keeping the switching isn\u2019t a hassle. I\u2019m still not sure that I would use this technique in a longer project.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The scarf that I dyed with Kool-Aid<\/a> several years ago is small. It\u2019s rather narrow, probably because I didn\u2019t want to make a big commitment to the process and used a portion of a skein. The color is still vibrant after several years I think it was Ice Blue drink mix, which yielded a nice aqua shade. Knowing now that the colors are a bit lighter after washing and drying so I\u2019m gong to go through my drink mix packets and create some fun yarn.<\/p>\n

Easter is Sunday and I had mentioned that I wanted to see how the yarn I dyed with Easter egg dye<\/a> turned out and if I wanted to try doing that again. Especially since on Monday dye will be on sale I haven\u2019t tried the yarn. I like the base yarn that I used a worsted 100% wool from Knit Picks, but do I like the colors? If I get a chance this week to start a scarf with the Paas dyed yarn, I will, so I can decide whether or not I want to purchase a few packages of dye on clearance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
